Cecília Szigeti

Dr. Cecília Szigeti has been engaged in the study of sustainability measurement and interpretation for 25 years. She completed and successfully defended her PhD dissertation with summa cum laude distinction at the Doctoral School of the University of Agricultural Sciences in Gödöllő. 

Her initial scientific interest focused on examining methods for measuring environmental and economic performance. Later, she specialized in the calculation of the ecological footprint, which also became the topic of her habilitation thesis. 

In line with her current research field, she is a member of the Permanent Interdepartmental Committee on the Circular Economy of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, where she serves as Secretary for the 2023–2026 term. 

She is a member of several editorial boards of scientific journals and maintains an active publication record, with over 250 scholarly works and a Hirsch index of 14.
