Tamás Pálvölgyi

Tamás Pálvölgyi began his career as a climate researcher, then worked in the Ministry of Environment in various positions in the 1990s. He has been a lecturer at the Department of Environmental Economics at BME since 2000, and an associate professor since 2003. He teaches several subjects related to energy management, climate protection, and strategic planning, and is the topic organizer at the BME Doctoral School of Management and Organizational Sciences. His research area is the development and application of strategic tools for objective-based policy decision-making, primarily in the areas of natural resource management, sustainability, and climate and energy policy. The number of his scientific publications exceeds one hundred. Between 2013 and March 2017, he was the Deputy Director of the Hungarian Geological and Geophysical Institute and the Head of the National Adaptation Center. Between 2016 and 2020, he worked as the Head of the Department of Environmental Economics, and from 2017 he was an elected member of the Senate of BME for three years. He is a member of several domestic and international scientific bodies, and is also a member of certain committees of KEHOP and NKFI, among others, which evaluate and review applications.
